KEY WORDS AND VOCABULARY METAL AGE

KEY WORDS

Metal Age: Period in history that lasted from around 3500 B.C TO 750 B.C and includes the Copper Age, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age.

Metallurgy: Technique for extracting metals from rock or earth and their treatment and use.

Metalworking: -Extract the ore.
                         -Smelt the metal in a furnace.
                         - Remove the slag.
                         - Pour the metal into the mould.


Menhirs: Large stones pushed into the ground, forming a circle (cromlech) or a line (alignment).



Dolmens: Made from several vertical stone walls and a horizontal stone.

ore, iron, bronze, copper, sword, knive, plough, trade, clay, wheel, war, weapons, ceremonies, alloy, corrosion, extraction, jewellery, helmet, hammer, irrigation, mould, tomb, smelt, walled.
